Hello everyone!
2023 has some big changes for little living room, as we’ve been teasing for a while on socials!
You may have seen that we have been successful in getting funding from the National Community Fund and Creative Scotland for the next two issues of our publication. We are absolutely thrilled because this means that, for the first time, we will be able to pay accepted contributors and a host of other creatives for their involvement in production!
Applications for paid opportunities for issues 8 and 9 are coming your way soon. These include:
2x Production work experience
2x Creative media work experience
2x Cover artist/illustrator
Events work experience
Showcase work experience
Contributors will now be paid £25 for each piece that we print in issues eight and nine of little living room.
You may have responded to one of our previous feedback forms and we have listened. This has helped us form our new direction for little living room. We are creating more paid opportunities; we will be organising social events to bring together the creative community; and we’re going to build an ethical business network so that sole traders, small businesses, social enterprises and B Corps alike can connect and share work opportunities.
Our wonderful creative collective will become a directory of artistic talent. This means we can continue to promote the work of these brilliant individuals and develop their careers. We will also host more community events, intimate gatherings and mentoring meet-ups where all of us can come together, learn from each other, and have fun.
On top of all this, we are also branching out in business support and design. In 2023, we will be offering affordable help to sole traders and small businesses - developing eye-catching designs and communicating better with customers.
Finally, we have finessed our membership system, making it even more beneficial to all of you. Starting at £22, these memberships are perfect for anyone from those who just want their publications and perks, to those who want more community and to give back to our social enterprise.
